Providence Health & Services Lead Sterile Processing Technician - Sterile Processing in Valdez, Alaska
Providence is calling a Lead Sterile Processing Technician (Sterile Processing, Day Shift, 0.90 FTE) to Providence Valdez Medical in Valdez, Alaska. In this position you will:
Direct the work flow of SPD Technicians on designated shift in order to meet the needs of SPD’s customers.
Make work assignments that are fair and equitable and in a manner that promotes staff learning and development.
Monitor staff productivity on assigned shift.
Anticipate and understand the needs of SPD’s customers and prioritize work flow to ensure those needs are met.
Ensure that instrumentation is available in a timely manner through collaboration with Operating Room Team Leaders, OR Case Expeditor and the Clinical Staff and Leaders in the departments served by SPD.
Understand current sterilization standards (ANSI/AAMI) and monitor activities on designated shift to ensure that standards are being met.
Maintain appropriate logs and documentation for sterilization equipment and instrument sets.
Act as a resource to staff regarding sterilization processes.
Perform the duties of the Sterile Processing Technician at the expert level.
Be able to trouble shoot minor problems with sterilization equipment and instruments.
Communicate issues with instruments and equipment with repair personnel.
Initiate instrument recalls when appropriate.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)
2 years experience in sterile processing or related field
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- High school graduation or equivalent
